Wish Someone a Cool Happy Birthday - Play it On Your Phone!

Let's say it's someone's birthday, and you want to call them and wish them a happy birthday. Better yet, you might want to sing happy birthday to them. Or The Dark Knight Curse it on a piano over the phone.

But suppose you are tone deaf, you have a rotten singing voice, and you can't play any musical instruments. Or maybe you just want to do something a little more unique. Well, how about playing "Happy Birthday To You" over your touch tone phone. You can do with this just by pressing the buttons on the phone. But of course you have to press the right ones, in the right order.

Now, you have to be careful about playing songs on your cell phone. If you pick up your phone and start pressing the numbers to play a tune, you might end up calling Siberia or someplace like that. And end up with a big phone bill. All that just for playing a simple tune like "Happy Birthday To You."

So how can you practice first? You can call yourself, or a friend, and after the connection is made, then you can practice playing the song. Sometimes that can be a bit troublesome too, because you call yourself and get the voicemail, and the recordings might get in the way.

All in all though, it's not very hard to play a tune with your phone. So you might want to just get the practicing, and just make the call to whomever is having the birthday, and play the tune right off the bat.

So what buttons do you press? The best website of touch tone songs. I've seen is at http://hometown.aol.com/fsufunkyb/songs.html" >http://hometown.aol.com/fsufunkyb/songs.html. Not only does it have "Happy Birthday To You", but many other songs. I've tried a few of these myself, and some of them are good and some of them are stupid. But hey, you're only playing a touch tone phone, you're not auditioning for a symphony orchestra.

So if you want to do something unique with the song happy birthday, play it for some lucky person over your phone. Maybe it sounds dumb, but it's better than nothing. Plus, it's a great finger exercise! Well sort of.
